Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Türkiye is ready to host the next round of trilateral negotiations following a phone call with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signalling Ankara’s continued role as a potential venue for diplomatic contacts over the war.
Writing after the conversation, Zelenskiy said Erdoğan informed him that Türkiye would be prepared to host the next meeting in a trilateral format bringing together Ukraine, Russia and the United States.
“President Erdoğan confirmed that Türkiye is ready to host the next round of talks in a trilateral format,” Zelenskiy said, adding that Kyiv welcomes the initiative and hopes the format can help move the diplomatic process forward.
The proposed meeting would follow earlier contacts held this year between representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the United States as part of efforts to explore possible pathways toward a negotiated settlement of the conflict.
Türkiye has repeatedly positioned itself as a possible venue for dialogue since the beginning of the war, maintaining channels with both Kyiv and Moscow while supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing the fighting.
The timing and location of the next round of talks have not yet been announced.
