Türkiye is the world's most expensive market for the iPhone 17 Pro 256 GB, according to Deutsche Bank Research. The device costs 2,592 dollars in Türkiye, compared with 1,181 dollars in the United States.
Deutsche Bank's Mapping the World's Prices 2026 report ranks Türkiye first among 41 markets, followed by Brazil and Egypt. The same model costs 2,222 euros in Türkiye, 1,012 euros in the United States and 961 euros in Japan, the cheapest market in the survey.
The price in Türkiye is 119 percent higher than in the United States.
Local incomes widen the gap. Deutsche Bank puts average monthly net earnings in Istanbul at 1,173 dollars. The iPhone 17 Pro therefore costs about 2.2 times that amount.
Apple's current Türkiye pricing broadly supports the comparison. The iPhone 17 Pro 256 GB is listed at 119,999 lira on Apple Türkiye's website.
Buying the phone abroad offers limited relief. Türkiye's IMEI registration fee has risen to 54,258 lira, adding a substantial cost to devices brought into the country.
Deutsche Bank does not provide a country-by-country breakdown of the factors behind the ranking. Taxes, exchange-rate pressure and import costs all contribute to the price of consumer electronics in Türkiye.
At more than twice Istanbul's reported average monthly net salary, the iPhone 17 Pro is not simply more expensive in Türkiye than elsewhere. It is also far less affordable relative to local earnings.
