Türkiye Starts Digital Tracking of Foreign Plated Vehicles With New Stay Monitoring System
By Bosphorus News Türkiye Desk
As of 23 March 2026, users can check the exact end date of their vehicle’s permitted stay in Türkiye and monitor its status through a new digital system introduced for foreign-plated vehicles.
The system, launched by the Ministry of Trade, operates through the “Foreign License Plate Vehicle Operations” interface on the Bilge customs platform, linking vehicle records with entry conditions and stay limits in a centralised digital framework.
According to the official platform, eligibility to bring a foreign-plated vehicle into Türkiye is tied to residency conditions, including a requirement to have spent at least 185 days abroad within the past year.
The system also reflects existing duration rules. Foreign nationals entering with a passport are allowed to keep their vehicles in Türkiye for up to 90 days, while Turkish citizens, dual nationals and Blue Card holders can retain foreign-plated vehicles for up to 730 days under specific conditions.

The platform integrates multiple procedures, including vehicle pre-declaration, payments and toll violation inquiries, bringing separate processes into a single system and reducing reliance on manual checks.
Users can also store contact details and receive notifications related to their vehicle status, indicating a shift toward automated compliance tracking and data-based monitoring.
The rollout gives authorities clearer visibility over vehicle movements, duration limits and compliance with customs rules, while allowing users to track their status directly through the system.
