Türkiye Dispatches 19th “Goodness Ship” with Humanitarian Aid for Gaza

The Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılayı) has sent its 19th “Goodness Ship” from Mersin Port as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support civilians in Gaza, where access to basic necessities remains limited amid prolonged instability.

According to information shared by Türk Kızılayı, the vessel is carrying approximately 1,300 tons of humanitarian aid, including food packages, hygiene materials, clothing and winter supplies. The shipment is intended to address urgent needs on the ground, particularly as colder weather conditions increase vulnerabilities among displaced populations.

Speaking during the departure ceremony, Turkish Red Crescent officials emphasized that the mission represents not only material assistance but also a message of solidarity and humanitarian responsibility. The organization noted that aid deliveries to Gaza have continued through multiple channels and formats, depending on access conditions.

Türk Kızılayı stated that, to date, it has delivered more than 18,000 tons of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and has been operating food distribution points that provide tens of thousands of hot meals daily when conditions allow. The “Goodness Ship” initiative is part of a broader relief strategy aimed at sustaining assistance over time rather than through isolated deliveries.

The organization also confirmed that previous shipments included large quantities of winter relief items, such as blankets and family food parcels, and that further aid missions are planned as long as humanitarian access remains possible.

The current shipment is expected to reach Egypt’s El-Arish Port, where the aid will be transferred for onward delivery into Gaza through established humanitarian corridors.

Türk Kızılayı officials underlined that Türkiye’s humanitarian response is guided by international humanitarian principles and focuses on civilian needs, regardless of political developments.
