Israel and the United States issued statements condemning the gunfire incident near the Israeli Consulate area in Istanbul, publicly thanking Türkiye for its response and coordination following the attack.
In a statement, Israel's Foreign Ministry said it "strongly condemns the terrorist attack that took place today near the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul," adding that it is "confident that the Turkish authorities will continue to take all necessary measures to protect Israeli representatives and Israeli citizens."
The ministry also expressed appreciation for the Turkish response, stating: "We thank the Turkish authorities and the security forces for their swift and effective action."
US Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack echoed the condemnation and highlighted the diplomatic dimension of the incident.
"I strongly condemn today's attack near the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul," Barrack said. "Attacks on diplomatic missions threaten the foundation of international order."
He added that the United States stands with Türkiye in confronting security threats and thanked Turkish authorities for their response.

The statements came after gunfire erupted near the Israeli Consulate area in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, where three assailants were neutralized and two police officers were wounded.
The incident prompted a security response by Turkish authorities and an immediate investigation by prosecutors.
Israel's official Türkiye-facing account also reiterated the message, condemning the attack and thanking Turkish security forces, reinforcing the alignment in messaging across official Israeli channels.
No injuries among diplomatic personnel were reported. Turkish authorities have not yet provided further operational details as the investigation continues.
