FNSS to Double Armoured Vehicle Capacity After New Turkish Army Orders
Bosphorus News Defense Desk
FNSS is preparing to double armoured vehicle production at its Ankara facility after new orders linked to Türkiye's land and amphibious forces, adding a land systems layer to the country's wider defence industry scale-up.
The Turkish defence manufacturer signed new multi-million-euro contracts with Türkiye's Presidency of Defence Industries at SAHA 2026, covering additional ZAHA amphibious assault vehicles and PARS Scout 6x6 and 8x8 tactical wheeled armoured vehicles, according to Türkiye Today.
FNSS is now investing to raise annual production capacity at its Ankara plant from 100 vehicles to 200. The expansion is expected to be completed by late 2026 or early 2027, Türkiye Today and EDR Magazine reported.
The ZAHA order carries direct naval relevance. Janes reported that 27 additional ZAHA marine assault vehicles were contracted for the Turkish Naval Forces in May 2026, strengthening a platform designed for amphibious operations and support to Türkiye's marine units.
The PARS Scout line adds the land forces and internal security dimension. FNSS has promoted the PARS Scout 6x6 Command Post Vehicle and related 6x6 and 8x8 variants as part of its tactical wheeled armoured vehicle family, with the platform designed for reconnaissance, command and control, and battlefield mobility roles.
FNSS had already placed the same land and amphibious vehicle families at the centre of its SAHA EXPO 2026 display. In a May 2 company statement, FNSS said it showcased PARS ALPHA 8x8, ZAHA, PARS İZCİ 6x6 Command Post Vehicle and the ALKA YESS integrated KAPLAN HYBRID Autonomous platform, underlining how armoured mobility, amphibious assault and unmanned ground systems now sit inside the same product cycle.
The FNSS capacity move sits inside the larger SAHA 2026 scale-up. The fair closed with 182 agreements worth $8 billion, including $6 billion in export-oriented business volume, as detailed in Bosphorus News' SAHA 2026 coverage. A separate Bosphorus News report on Turkish defence firms at SAHA 2026 showed how ASELSAN's Steel Dome delivery agenda and export contracts framed the same fair. FNSS adds the land systems and armoured mobility layer to that production scale story.
The company's expansion follows a period in which Türkiye has used major fairs and military exercises to connect domestic procurement, export visibility and platform maturity. Armoured vehicles draw less global attention than drones, combat aircraft or air defence systems, but they remain central to ground force mobility, amphibious operations and export credibility.
The production target also points to a shift inside Türkiye's defence sector. The industry is moving from showcase-heavy visibility toward higher output, supply chain scaling and serial production across multiple platform families.
FNSS will still need to execute the capacity increase on time, with the supplier base and production rhythm required to support a jump from 100 to 200 vehicles a year. The direction is already visible: Turkish land systems are moving into a higher output phase as domestic orders and international demand put pressure on production capacity.
