WNBA standout Breanna Stewart is set to return to Türkiye, with Fenerbahçe confirming that the New York Liberty forward will join the club for the upcoming EuroLeague Women Final Six in April.

Stewart previously played for Fenerbahçe during the 2022–23 season, leading the Istanbul-based side to its first EuroLeague Women title. She was named Final Four MVP after playing a central role in the club’s championship run, adding a European crown to an already decorated résumé.

Her latest move comes amid uncertainty surrounding the 2026 WNBA season calendar, as collective bargaining negotiations continue and preseason timelines remain under discussion. Training camps are scheduled to open shortly before the EuroLeague Final Six, raising questions about scheduling coordination, though no conflict has been formally announced.

Stewart is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished players of her generation. A multiple-time WNBA champion and league MVP, she has also won Olympic gold medals with Team USA and secured two EuroLeague Women titles during her overseas stints. At the collegiate level, she led the University of Connecticut to four consecutive NCAA championships, earning national player of the year honors and cementing her place among the sport’s elite.

Fenerbahçe Opet, one of Europe’s leading women’s basketball clubs, will look to Stewart’s experience as it pursues another continental title. The club has not yet released detailed information regarding the duration or contractual terms of her involvement beyond the Final Six tournament.
