Japan, United States and Türkiye Secure Places at 2026 World Junior Curling Championships

The women’s competition at the 2025 World Junior-B Curling Championships concluded with Japan, the United States and Türkiye earning qualification for the 2026 World Junior Curling Championships, which will be hosted in Denmark.

Japan completed the tournament with an unbeaten record and claimed the title after a dominant win over the United States in the final. The U.S. team finished as runner-up, securing the second qualification spot.

Türkiye Clinches Final Qualification Place

Türkiye secured the third and final qualifying position by defeating Scotland in the bronze-medal match. The closely contested game was decided in the final end, allowing the Turkish team to advance to the main world junior event.

The result marks another milestone for Türkiye’s growing presence in international curling, particularly at junior level, where participation and competitiveness have steadily increased in recent years.

Role of the World Junior-B Championships

The World Junior-B Curling Championships function as a qualification pathway for nations that have not already secured places at the main World Junior Curling Championships. The top three teams in each division earn promotion to the following year’s championship event.

Several countries had already qualified for the 2026 tournament through previous results or host status, making the Junior-B event a critical opportunity for emerging teams.

Looking Ahead

With qualification secured, Japan, the United States and Türkiye will now turn their focus to preparations for the 2026 World Junior Curling Championships, where they will compete against the sport’s leading junior teams.

The men’s World Junior-B competition is scheduled to continue later in the season, with its own qualification places yet to be decided.
