BREAKING: Iran Embassy in Ankara Denies Firing Any Munitions Into Turkish Airspace

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ankara has issued a formal press release denying that any munitions were launched from Iranian territory toward Türkiye. The statement, published on the embassy's official X account, reads in full:

"No munitions have been launched from Iran toward Türkiye. Taking into account the recent meeting between the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the President of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as the contacts between the foreign ministers of the two countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced its readiness to establish a joint technical team to thoroughly investigate this matter in order to resolve any ambiguities. As previously stated, the Islamic Republic of Iran respects the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Türkiye, a friendly and neighboring country."

NATO and the Turkish Ministry of National Defence have confirmed that ballistic munitions originating from Iranian territory were intercepted over Turkish airspace on at least three occasions since 4 March. Iran's denial and its proposal for a joint technical investigation now place the question of origin formally in dispute between Ankara and Tehran.
